Prophets and Losses

Prophetic wisdom is not simply about gaining insight but having the courage to stand firm in the face of that which could kill you and declare truth. Oh, to have the bravery of Nathaniel, John the Baptist, Gandhi, Martin, and Christ! These are men who did not trade in truth but lived it and used love to transform society.  Prophets are not necessarily unblemished. In fact, with one exception, it is because of their mistakes that such men are able to so fully embrace Divine Love and Truth.  What is striking is how timeless their messages were. They were based on universal, cosmological truths not on the whims and whimsies of society.  The great sacrifices made by prophets are necessary to the journey.
